Athens and Greek Islands

Enjoy an introduction to classical Greece in Athens, a few days on the quiet islands of Samos and Patmos, and a day trip to the ancient ruins of Ephesus on the western Turkish coast.

Day 1:  Flight from Milwaukee or Chicago to Athens.

Day 2:  Arrival in Athens and transfer to hotel.  Get acquainted with our neighborhood in the oldest part of town, the charming "Plaka."

Day 3:  Tour the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and the ancient marketplace.  Shopping and dinner in the Plaka.

Day 4:  Possible visit the to the National Archaeological Museum or to the Kerameikos, the ancient cemetary and ceremonial entrance to Athens.  Optional day trips to Olympia or Delphi are also available.  Evening strolls and dinner in the Plaka.

Day 5:  We take a one hour flight to the island of Samos, a charming Greek island full of shops, restaurants, and relaxation.  We'll have an afternoon at leisure, strolling the streets, possibly visiting the archaeological museum, the beach, and/or a small and beautiful orthodox church.  Dinner in our hotel overlooking the sea.

Day 6:  Today we board a hydrofoil for a ride to the island of Patmos, where John wrote the Book of Revelation.  A sleepy island, we'll love the breathtaking views of the sea from our small hotel.

Day 7:  We hydrofoil or ferry to spend a night on the Turkish coast near Ephesus.

Day 8:  Today we visit the ancient Roman city of Ephesus.  We will tour the museum, the beautiful city, and perhaps get to the last home of the Virgin Mary; overnight nearby.

Day 9:  We return to Samos and spend a final leisurely day on Samos Island with a final night on the town.

Day 10:  We fly to Athens and then connect with our flight to the USA, some may wish to extend their trip and visit some other islands.

Reservations are being accepted now.  Send $150 deposit with a copy of the name page of your passport.  Make checks payable to Roam With Us, Inc.  All but $50 of your deposit is refundable until tickets are purchased.  Covered in price are hotel with breakfast, taxes, and service charges; trip cancellation/interruption insurance for medical reasons; administrative costs and guide service.
