Sample Itinerary
9 days/7 nights--approximate cost $2000 includes almost everything! Final cost depends upon cost of airline tickets and hotels when booked. Price includes:
Round trip economy class air travel to Rome and transfers to and from airport
Breakfasts
5 nights hotel in Rome and 2 nights hotel in Florence
Rome to Florence roundtrip train and Florence-Siena round trip by bus
Four museum admissions: Vatican Museum (Rome), Villa Borghese (Rome), Uffizi (Florence), Accademia (Florence). Other museums optional.

General Itinerary:
Day 1: Afternoon departure to Rome's Fiumicino airport. Dinner and entertainment on plane. Rome is 7 hours ahead of central standard time.
Day 2: Arrival in Rome early morning. We will be staying at the Hotel San Remo near Piazza Repubblica and Michelangelo's church designed in an ancient Roman bath. We will explore our neighborhood and enjoy Sunday evening with the Romans.
Day 3: We'll visit the Roman Colosseum and Forum, see Musolini's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, see the oldest dome in the world at the Pantheon, and look into a few beautiful churches.
Day 4: Visit to the Vatican Museum, the clean, bright Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Square and Basilica.
Day 5: we'll seek out a few of Rome's famous churches and visit some of the great piazzas.
Day 6: we'll take the fast train to Florence, where we'll visit several museums full of Michelangelo's work...the Uffizi and the Accademia. Florence is noted for its leather goods, silver, and stationery, so there will be time for shopping and roaming the narrow renaissance lanes. Overnight in Florence.
Day 7: Siena is a short bus ride from Florence, and we'll walk through this medieval walled city famous for its quaint lanes and historic buildings. Overnight in Florence.
Day 8: we return to Rome by train for a last night on the town and strolling with the Romans.
Day 9: our plane departs Rome in the late morning and arrives in Chicago on the same day.
